Quran Reading Course Information

Every Muslim bears the responsibility to read the Holy Quran with distinctness and correctness, adhering to Tajweed guidelines. Our online Quran reading course is meticulously crafted for students of all ages—from children to adults—who have graduated from the basics. This course is designed for those who have finished the Noorani Qaida course and can identify letters, but wish to transition from "spelling-based" reading to fluent, proficient recitation. The practice exercises in our Quran reading curriculum are built to instill confidence, allowing students to seamlessly apply the techniques learned in the Qaida. Our responsible online Quran teacher ensures that each student completes the entire reading of the Quran (Nazra) on schedule.

Course Outline

• Recitation of the Quran with an authentic, appropriate Arabic accent.
• Training in different speeds of recitation: Tarteel (measured) and Hadar (fast).
• Understanding how Quranic letter forms change visually over time in the script.
• Mastering Madd: Knowing exactly how much harakaat must be extended.
• Learning the Stop Rules (Waqf): The locations where recitation should either stop or continue.
• Practical application of Izhar, Ikhfa, Idgham, and Iqlab rules while reading.
• Strict adherence to the Izhar-e-Shafawi, Ikhfa-e-Shafawi, and Idgham-e-Shafawi guidelines.
• Complete Reading of the Qur’an from Surah Al-fatiha to Surah Annas.

Requirements

To succeed in these online Quran classes, the student must be familiar with Arabic vowels, including sukhoon, madd, tanween, and shaddah, as well as the makharij of Arabic letters and word joining. If you are unfamiliar with these basics, we recommend completing our Noorani Qaida Basic Course before beginning to learn Quran reading.

Once done with this course, students are able to read Quran with correct pronunciation and flow, ready to move towards Hifz or advanced studies.
